Program outcome of History

The main focus in the history course at the UG level is on the stages the growth of human civilization and the evolution of social system and on cultural and scientific development.

  1. Learn a basic narrative of historical events in a specific region of world in a specific time frame.
  2. Distinguish between primary and secondary sources.
  3. Students should understand the basic tools of historical analysis.
  4. Students should understand the value of diversity.
  5. Students should understand the basic skills that historians us in research.
  6. They should believe in the equality of man irrespective of caste, Creed, religion and colour.

History of India & Earliest times to 1200 A.D-

As a history student will learn about the age of paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Harappan and Bronze cultures of ancient India. They can acquire knowledge about the vedic period and the rise of Jainism and Buddhism culture in ancient times of India.

Western World (Mid-15th century to 1870)

 

The students of history learn about some significant events of modern west such as- Renaissance, Humanism, Reformation, Scientific revolution, Mercantilism, The industrial revolution etc. They will get knowledge from the debates which explain the transition of feudalism to capitalism.

History of India (1200 to 1739 A.D)

In this paper students will about the history of Delhi sultanate is thoroughly described in this section. Students can gather knowledge regarding Mughal period, policy, economy, trade, society and culture become so famous in medieval period.

Main currents of World History from 1871 to 2001 A.D

This paper focus on the great French revolution in 1789, students come to know about the emergence of Napoleon Bonaparte in Europe and his expansion, consolidation, downfall. Vienna Congress, Metternich, Bismarck and his diplomacy, World War 1 & 11 all these important issues are incorporated in this paper.

History of India from 1740 to 1857 A.D

To understanding the mid – eighteenth century this paper is considered as mandatory. Students will gather about expansion and consolidation of British Empire, spread of western education, land revenue settlements.

History of India from 1858 to 1950 A.D

Students will gather knowledge about nationalism, genesis of congress, moderates, extremists, Gandhi and his movements, Subhas Chandra Bose and his INA. Indian Renaissance, Several peasants and tribal movements.

Sociology seeks to understand all aspects of human social behavior including the behavior, institutions and entire so cities sociologists are typically motivated both by the desire to better understand the principles of social life and by t he conviction that understanding these principles may aid in the formulation for enlightened and effective social policy.

  1. Critical thinking the program seeks to develop in students the sociological knowledge and skills that will enable them to think critically and imaginatively about society and social issues.
